Optimus Law Macmillan Coffee Morning!

On Friday 27th September 2019, Optimus Law held its second Macmillan Cancer Coffee morning at 10 New Bartholomew Street, Birmingham, West Midlands, B5 5QS.

People all over the UK hosted their own Coffee Mornings on the 27th September 2019 and donations on the day are made to Macmillan., with all proceeds going to the charity. The first ever Coffee Morning took place in 1990. It was a small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their beverage to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, that Macmillan decided to do it again the following year in 1991 – only this time they did it at a larger scale, nationally across the country. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.

Cancer can affect people’s whole lives – health, money, family, job; everything. And, after more than 100 years of caring, Macmillan understands that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients. So, Macmillan takes the time to understand the support people need to live their lives as fully as they can. From the moment of diagnosis and whenever Macmillan is needed, they help people find their best way through this difficult faze of life. There help is totally focused on each individual person, so everyone receives the support that’s best for them and suited to their needs individually.

Optimus Law had a selection of treats to entice people to donate generously, and generously they did. In total an amount of £600.00 was raised for the noble cause. Optimus Law would like to thank all those that attended on the day who donated, in particular: Halcyon Chambers, MZ Law Solicitor, Homeless 1, UK Migration Lawyers, GEO News and Jung News, Legal Aid Agency and a special thank you to Dessert box for their donation of cakes.
